Program Note

I was sitting in the beautiful sanctuary of Trinity Episcopal Church one summer afternoon listening to an organ recital, when the colors of light streaming through the west windows began to work their way into my musical imagination, in particular a certain red color, so when Philip asked me for a new piece for organ I already knew what the title would be!
