On the evening of Monday, October 23, 2023, at the Reno Little Theater, a wonderful short program featuring mostly  recent Houghton compositions, including several World Premieres, was held with Joshua Anderson (clarinet), Peter Lenz (‘cello) and James Winn (piano) performing.

First we heard the promised encore performance of ‘Let’s Hope’ which was commissioned by the Sierra Watercolor Society to accompany their Community Perspectives Exhibition this past July; many of the paintings were once again on display in the lobby of the theater.

Among the bonus offerings were Jim Winn performing selections from ‘Consolations’ and Joshua Anderson presenting a first performance of Two Etudes in B minor for solo clarinet which he commissioned.
